Unioeste Collection of Entomopathogenic Fungi Isolates (CFEUnioeste)
The Unioeste collection of entomopathogenic fungi isolates (CFEUnioeste) was created in 2000, linked to the Unioeste Agricultural Biotechnology Laboratory, Cascavel Campus. CFEUnioeste hosts fungal isolates from different species of particular interest in pest control (insects and mites).
Such isolates are from soils, from natural and anthropized regions of the state of Paraná. CFEUnioeste currently has 75 accessions, whose information has been duly cataloged regarding the respective insecticidal/acaricide activity, including bibliographic references of the studies carried out and molecularly characterized, with the gene sequences deposited with the GeneBank database. These isolates have been used in our basic, and applied research, where graduate and undergraduate students work, aiming to control important pests from soybean and yerba-mate crops and poultryhouses.
