Ichthyological Collection of the Universidade Tecnológica Federal do Paraná (UTFPR) campus, Santa Helena (CISH)
The Ichthyological Collection of the Universidade Tecnológica Federal do Paraná (UTFPR), campus, Santa Helena (CISH) was created in 2018, with the objective of studying and disseminating the Ichthyofauna of the Paraná III basin, motivated by meeting on the margins of the Area of Relevant Ecological Interest (ARIE) known in the region as “Refúgio Biológico”
Mission: to contribute with technical information on the diversity and biological attributes of the ichthyofauna of the Paraná III basin and other hydrographic regions with the objective of conserving and preserving aquatic ecosystems; train human resources and develop extension activities with emphasis on the concepts of Environmental Education. In addition to representing the diversity of fish that occurs in the Paraná watershed and region, the specimens are used for studies in the areas of systematics, morphology, education, and ecology.
